PARGING MIX

Parging mix is what our waterproofing technicians will apply to the above-grade portion of the home’s foundation walls.

There are aesthetic reasons it is used – it will hide any surface marks, scratches or any other imperfections on the wall. When finished it provides a decorative finish that can be painted, for example.

But parging mix is a useful barrier against water, since, if applied correctly, its water-resistant elements protect concrete and masonry that is exposed to inclement weather.

If applied incorrectly, water can sit between the coating of parge and the foundation wall, which will likely lead to moisture damage to the home over time. So get a pro to apply it correctly.

We’ll clear the wall of any dust and dirt beforehand, then wash down the wall with water.

Quality parging mix with a creamy consistency is designed for easy trowelling and smooth finishing. We’ll allow the mix 24 hours to dry before applying another coat if need be.
