Elmhurstrst Dr, Rexdale-Kipling, Toronto, exterior waterproofing

Property Address:

Elmhurst Dr, Rexdale–Kipling, Toronto, ON

Description of Work:
Exterior foundation waterproofing was completed around the cold room area of the property to address ongoing water leakage caused by multiple foundation cracks. These cracks were allowing groundwater to penetrate the foundation wall, resulting in moisture issues inside the basement.

The exterior foundation was excavated around the cold room to fully expose the affected sections. Once exposed, the foundation surface was thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All visible cracks were properly repaired and sealed, followed by the application of a high‑quality exterior waterproofing membrane designed to prevent future water infiltration and withstand hydrostatic pressure.

The existing old weeping tile system, which was no longer functioning effectively, was removed and replaced with new weeping tile to improve below‑grade drainage. The new drainage system was installed to properly direct groundwater away from the foundation, enhancing long‑term performance and protection.

The excavation was then backfilled and the work area restored, ensuring proper drainage and grading around the foundation.

Result:
The cold room foundation area is now fully waterproofed and protected with a new drainage system, eliminating active leaks and significantly reducing the risk of future water intrusion.
