Sewer Replacement on Carla Ct, Shoreacres, Burlington, L7L 1P4

Project Location: Carla Court, Shoreacres, Burlington, Ontario, L7L 1P4

Service Completed: Interior sewer line repair and damaged pipe replacement

Project Overview

Canada Waterproofers completed an interior sewer line repair at a home on Carla Court in the Shoreacres neighbourhood of Burlington.

A broken section of the home’s main sewer line was causing drainage concerns and creating a risk of sewage backups. Because the damaged pipe was located beneath the basement floor, the repair required controlled excavation through the concrete and finished tile flooring.

Locating and Accessing the Broken Sewer Pipe

The damaged section of the sewer line was identified below the basement floor. Our crew carefully cut and removed the concrete required to access the pipe while limiting unnecessary damage to the surrounding area.

The existing tile flooring was cut with clean, straight edges so the homeowner could reinstall replacement tiles more easily after the repair. This helped reduce the amount of finishing and restoration work required.

Replacing the Damaged Sewer Line

Once the pipe was exposed, approximately four feet of broken sewer pipe was removed.

A new four-inch PVC sewer pipe was installed in its place. The replacement section was connected to the existing drain line using two Fernco couplings. These flexible couplings create a secure connection while allowing for minor movement between the new PVC pipe and the existing sewer line.

After installation, the repaired drain line was tested to confirm that wastewater was flowing correctly and that the connections were secure.

Basement Floor Restoration

After the sewer repair was completed and tested, the excavated area was backfilled and compacted.

New concrete was then installed and levelled with the surrounding basement floor. The work area was cleaned and left ready for the homeowner’s tile replacement.

Final Result

The broken sewer line was successfully replaced with a new four-inch PVC section, restoring proper drainage and reducing the risk of future basement sewer backups.

The project included:

  • Controlled excavation through the basement floor
  • Removal of approximately four feet of damaged sewer pipe
  • Installation of a new four-inch PVC sewer line
  • Two secure Fernco coupling connections
  • Drainage and flow testing
  • Backfilling and concrete floor restoration
  • Clean preparation for replacement tile installation

This Burlington sewer repair was completed with minimal disruption to the surrounding basement and a clean, professional finish.
